Blackbeard holds a significant role in the One Piece series, especially in the Final Saga, where his importance is set to increase. Introduced early in the story, Blackbeard is portrayed as Luffy’s opposite, yet they share the same ultimate goal. Initially a member of Whitebeard’s crew, Blackbeard betrayed him when he saw an opportunity, steadily rising in prominence since then.

Presently, he stands as one of the Emperors of the Sea, boasting a bounty of 3.996 billion berries, and his notoriety continues to grow. Recent hints in the story suggest that Blackbeard’s lineage is exceptional, indicating a pivotal role for him in the latter part of One Piece’s final saga. Fans can anticipate that Blackbeard’s unique heritage will play a crucial role in the unfolding events.

When the topic of special lineage arises among One Piece fans, it often leads to comparisons with unique races in the series. There are several special races in the One Piece world, two of which have recently received significant attention, both known for their extraordinary abilities. The first of these races is the Lunarian race, introduced towards the end of the Wano arc through the character King.

The Lunarians are depicted as a special race of winged individuals with brown skin, white hair, and black wings that emit a flame. This flame provides them with near-impenetrable defense when burning and incredible speed when extinguished. Historically, the Lunarians were revered as Gods and resided atop the Red Line, where the Holy Land of Marijoa now stands. Though believed to have been exterminated by the World Government, King is revealed as the last surviving member. However, they are now experiencing a resurgence, thanks to Dr. Vegapunk, who has created the Seraphims by infusing them with the Lunarian Lineage Factor.

Similarly, another recently introduced race in One Piece is the Buccaneers. They are described as a hybrid of giants and humans, possessing the strength, endurance, and durability of giants. The Buccaneers also possess an undisclosed special power. Their significance is further highlighted by their connection to the Sun God, Nika, who existed in the One Piece world long before Luffy’s Gear 5 revelation. It is speculated that Nika might have been a member of the Buccaneer race, which could explain their extermination by the World Government. Kuma is identified as the last known survivor of the Buccaneer race.

In Chapter 1107 of One Piece, Saint Saturn confronts two ship captains from the Blackbeard pirates, Catarina Devon, and Van Augur. When asked about their allegiance to Teach, Devon responds by stating that Teach is special due to his bloodline. Despite the speculation surrounding Teach’s race, particularly with the recent mentions of the Lunarians and Buccaneers, Saturn clarifies that Teach cannot be a Buccaneer. Saturn himself acknowledges Kuma as the last of the Buccaneers on Egghead Island, despite being aware of Teach’s special bloodline. This indicates that Teach does not belong to the Buccaneer race, contrary to popular belief.
