In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, you will face a number of different threats during a match. No matter where you go, something is going to attack you, from normal zombies to Special and Elite Zombies to enemy human AI. One of the most sought-after enemies, though, is the Hellhound.
The only kind of these fire dogs is the one shown here. They can appear anywhere on the map, just like any other zombie or enemy type. But Hellhounds are different from other enemies because you need to kill them to complete some zombie challenges, contracts, or tasks that involve weapon camouflage. Hellhounds also has another part where you can pet them to get an award in the game.
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to best spawn Hellhounds and how to pet one in MW3 Zombies. Also we have covered several tips regarding MW3 Zombies mission. Click here to check them!
Where to Find Hellhounds in MW 3 Zombies
In MW3 Zombies, the best way to find Hellhounds is to finish Raid Weapon Stash Contracts all over Urzikstan. The weapon stashes have more zombies to kill and more hounds to spawn than any other objectives on the map. Every time I break open a stash by myself, I’ve been able to kill at least 10 Hellhound.
It takes a few minutes to finish each Raid Weapon Stash Contract, and about four Hellhounds will show up every 20 to 30 seconds. You’ll have plenty of time to farm kills on the fire beast and get some Rift Rewards at the same time. When you’re done with one stash, just mark the next one and keep going.
When not in a stash, Hellhounds will show up almost anywhere, but not in large groups. Most of the time, you can find a couple hiding in buildings or spawning out in the open in Urzikstan while swarms of them chase you down the road. Just watch out for the burning balls that show up before one of the dogs jumps out.
The Raid Weapon Stash Contract is still your best bet if you are on the Cryo Freeze Ammo stage of the game. Bring a grey weapon that has low damage so that the freeze can be applied. There are twelve Hellhounds that will spawn at the safe, so you should have many chances to move forward.
How to pet Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies
If you have ever been in Urzikstan in MW3 Zombies and seen a doghouse sign on your map, you might be curious about what it does. This icon is a Hellhound doghouse. If you finish a few objectives first, it will always spawn a friendly Hellhound that you can pet. You get an achievement in Zombies for petting a Hellhound, and you need to do it for some tasks.
Find a doghouse sign on your map before you can pet a Hellhound. There is only one Chunk of Flesh you need to find and take once you have it. You can get it by killing zombies. As Chunk of Flesh drops by chance, you’ll have to keep killing zombies until you see it on the ground. Since it’s a blue rare item, it may take a while for you to get it.
Add the Chunk of Flesh drop to your pack and take it to the doghouse icon on your map if you’re lucky. You can see your inventory when you stand in front of the doghouse and interact with it. If you put the Chunk of Flesh from your collection on the doghouse, it will explode and a Hellhound will appear.
But don’t worry—this Hellhound is nice and won’t hurt you. There is a Hellhound that will spawn, and you can talk to it and pet it. MW3’s “You Can Pet The Dog Achievement” is yours just for doing this.
Conclusion
That’s all you need to know to find Hellhounds in MW3 Zombies and pet them.
