Call of Duty Warzone dataminers have discovered some fascinating evidence that another fan-favorite map may return to Warzone in the coming months.
Some Call of Duty: Warzone enthusiasts believe they’ve discovered evidence that Rebirth Island will return in Season 3. Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3 is set to premiere in early April, two months from now.
In October, Call of Duty revealed that Fortune’s Keep and Rebirth Island would return to Warzone in 2024. Fortune’s Keep was just included in Call of Duty’s Season 2 update. However, Call of Duty has kept the release date of Rebirth Island under wraps, simply stating that it would be available “later in 2024.” Fans believe they know when it will be reintroduced to Warzone.
Following the Season 2 update, Warzone dataminers discovered several references to Rebirth Island in the game’s files. The filenames include “s3_rebirth,” which appears to indicate that Rebirth Island will return in Warzone Season 3. However, this is simply speculation at this time, and fans should proceed with care until Rebirth Island’s official release date is announced. Rebirth Island, the second map added to Warzone after Verdansk, was set on a small island patterned on Alcatraz.

Rebirth Island Could Be Returning to Warzone in Season 3
- Dataminers found numerous files named “s3_rebirth”
- “S3” and “rebirth” could reference things other than Season 3 and Rebirth Island, so users should exercise caution for now
- Warzone Season 3 is expected to launch in early April.
Rebirth Island matched its compact size with a low player count, allowing for fast-paced action that was not too chaotic or overpowering. Rebirth Island, like Fortune’s Keep, appears to use Warzone’s Resurgence mode and may be included in Warzone’s new Ranked Resurgence mode among the other tiny maps.
Now that Call of Duty: Season 2 is out, Warzone players can visit the rebuilt Fortune’s Keep, which now includes new and renovated POIs. Warzone: Fortune’s Keep also includes a new secret vault for players to find. Call of Duty has revealed that the vault could be tied to the Keep POI’s throne room, but enthusiasts are still striving to discover the secret location. It’s possible that the vault holds important loot, such as Warzone’s new Wonder Weapons or Zombies Power Ups, which were added with the Season 2 update.
Final Update
Call of Duty also stated that the PDS field improvement would return to Warzone later in Season 2. The PDS was removed in 2022, giving consumers temporary gas immunity. The field update generated some unique playmaking options, which Warzone aficionados are eager to use again. Another confirmed Warzone addition for the future is the Research Vessel POI on Fortune’s Keep, which will be a massive ship floating off the island’s coast.
